Detailed Overview
“IVM” Wafer Check Valve offers performance & reliability. Ideal for low-pressure and temperature environments, A wafer check valve is a type of valve designed to allow flow in one direction while preventing reverse flow. Its design is compact and streamlined, resembling a thin “wafer,” which is why it’s called a wafer check valve.
- The wafer check valve has slim, flat design, which allows it to fit between two flanges of any class & rating in a pipeline, making it suitable for applications where space is limited.
- It consists of a disc (plate) that swings on a hinge with spring-loaded design. When fluid flows in the intended direction, the disc opens to allow passage. When flow reverses, the disc closes to block the backflow.
- The check mechanism (usually a disc or flap) closes automatically when backflow occurs.
- The valve operates automatically without the need for manual intervention or external power.
- Its thin design makes it ideal for installations where space is constrained.
- Generally, wafer check valves are more affordable and easier to install compared to larger, bulkier swing type check valves., that’s why it very cost effective than swing type check valves.
- It’s streamlined design often results in a lower pressure drop, meaning less energy is required to move the fluid through the system.
- Low maintenance compare to other Check valves, as there is no such moving parts rather than a disc & hinge.
Overall, the wafer check valve’s compact design, ease of installation, and effective backflow prevention make it a versatile component in many fluid control systems.
Wafer Check Valve Special Features
- Corrosion Resistance
- Installation Flexibility
- Standardized Dimensions
- Reduced Maintenance
- Low Pressure Drop
- Compact Design
Key Features
- Easy Installation : Being a wafer-style valve, it can be sandwiched between two flanges, simplifying installation and maintenance.
- Simple Mechanism : The single plate design typically employs a straightforward mechanism that uses gravity or fluid flow to operate, reducing the number of moving parts and potential points of failure.
- Versatility : Single plate wafer check valves can be used in a variety of applications, including water, wastewater, chemical processing, and HVAC systems.
- Sealing Efficiency : They often feature strong sealing mechanisms to ensure minimal leakage, which is crucial for maintaining system integrity.
